Police officers put their uniform on each day and leave their home and their family never knowing what dangers await them. Twice we have lost two officers simultaneously (partners). The first time in 1993 and the second time in 2007. They were 25 and 26-years-old and 34 and 35-years-old. One officer and his wife were awaiting the birth of their second son. It was a terribly dark day for the city of Charlotte and I remember it like it was yesterday. I don’t want to forget. We owe these officers that much. You are all heroes.
