I hope you do take some pride in this. I often wonder how police officers get &#039;closure&#039; on the terrible things they see or have to work with/against.  Or if not &#039;closure&#039; maybe some kind of reconciliation.

I would think that apprehension of the &#039;bad guy&#039; isn&#039;t a full reconciliation, nor would even a stiff sentence really reconcile things in some cases. That&#039;s professional, that&#039;s for society-at-large, but doesn&#039;t account for individuals.
