From another Chris who is volunteering as well.
Chris seems to be a popular name on your blog!
Busy,busy weekend for all.
It's fun watching all the different uniforms, listening to all the languages.
Hopefully next week at some point I can get out to watch some events.
The Athletes that have had the chance to check out the sights in Vancouver are
quite impressed.
Especially since some of them had heard that it rained here a lot.

Chris - the explosive detection and narcotic detection components of the event are closed to the public and are running at a different time and at a different location.

The 'fun' stuff like the obstacle course and protection work are open to the public on Aug 6th - if you have never seen police dogs in action, this is a great event to come watch.

Hubby just got home from work (he's a firefighter...don't hold that against me ;) ) and he said downtown was jammed with people last night. With the finals for the Ceremony of Lights fireworks competition tonight, the Gay Pride Parade scheduled for tomorrow and the WPFG in town, it's going to busy again tonight....I'm off to an overtime shift for the fireworks and don't anticipate getting home until the wee hours of the morning.

I'm volunteering for the Games this year, but I'm pretty sure the Police Service Dogs event is actually the only event closed to the public...? I could be wrong though...

I competed at the games in Indianapolis and the games in Quebec, and if you've never been, I can assure you it is the experience of a lifetime. I would be there now if life's circumstances hadn't gotten in the way.

Spend as much time watching the different competitions and hang out at the olympic village. If you attend opening ceremonies, I can assure you it will be something you'll never forget.
