Work and Travel

One of the perks of this job is this – you get paid to travel.  All in the pursuit of learning from various police experts located around Canada, the United States and abroad.

Travel is a very necessary aspect of this job as we cannot expect to become the top people in our fields if we allow ourselves to stagnate.  This means we must continue to learn from the experts who most often are located in areas with a different postal/zip/country code.

So by the time you read this, I will be far away from Vancouver with a group of officers.  We are travelling to learn from others in the policing world, in order to bring their skills back to the officers in the Vancouver Police Department.

This trip should be a good one.  I’ve travelled with work before and road trips are always fun.  There’s always a serious note to travel, knowing we are suppose to bring something back to our department – that said, the opportunity to go someplace new is always exciting.

So, for the next week, my posts will continue as usual, but all have been pre-written.  Please leave comments as you have been doing – I have a trusted source approving comments for me so your comment will appear the same day- but I will not be personally responding until next week.  I do not have Internet access where I am going, and even if I did, I’m not sure I’d have the time to log in.

I hope all of you have a good few days, and I’ll “see” you all next  week.  Until then, stay safe.

Sandra
